GFX Artist has some really great artworks on it. The images are nicely arranged first by elite artists and normal members, and then by the media types; 3D Modelling, Drawing, Painting, Photo Manipulation, Photography and Design. Once you choose your path and end up in one of the galleries you be greeted by a large thumbnail of the highest rated artwork at the moment, followed by the next top ten, and then lastly by the latest submissions. This website is all about rank and rating. If you're a really good artist, you'll become well known. If you're not what most people would consider a good artist, then you will probably live your life on this community practically unnoticed. However, if you aren't an elitist, you probably won't be bothered submitting anything to this site in the first place anyway.

Submitting art to this site can be a pain in the rear end. Unlike deviantART and Shadowness this art community doesn not provide hosting for normal members' pictures. This means that a member will have host their picture somewhere, either at their own webspace or on an image host such as www.photobucket.com. When submitting an image you are also required to provide two thumbnails, a large one and a small one. Also, the full image that you provide the link for cannot be over a certain size (so thta the website maintains it's uniformity in layout). So submitting an image to this community is actually quite tedius. This is why most of the artists on this community are pretty serious about their art and many of them are professionals.
Like CG Society, there is a strong focus on articles on the front page, however, the artists and art come out stronger than the articles in the end, unlike CG Society. The member pages are very focused on the artist’s art rather than on the artist, showing first three of their highest ranked pictures and then three of their latest submitted. There is then a link to their whole gallery.
There is a large divide in this community between the two types of artists which exist. The elite, and the regular. Every month there are a few artists nominated and then voted for to choose who will become the new elite artist in each category. This adds to the number of elite artists gradually. At the moment there are 151 elite artists and 43,429 regular. They even have separate galleries with their subsections. On the front page there are the latest elite images and then there are the latest regular submissions. Every member can vote on every picture. The higher your rank (or the better your own pictures are rated) the higher the rating you can vote for on a picture.
In the gallery sections there are the highest ranked artworks of the moment…though there is a special part of the site for the highest ranked artworks of all time. It’s called the g-spot. Here, the artworks rarely change, but they are the best the site has to offer.
There are many good artworks on GFX, but also some not so good. It is a very elitist community. You can visit the forums and engage in the friendly discussions and show your work or you can just browse artworks made by “the web’s finest”.
